Happy Birthday Bella

On Saturday we went to a birthday party for Bella at a big gymnasium. It is hard to believe that she is already six years old!! Abby had a lot of fun with the other babies. Some of the party pics are below. The rest are on my Shutterfly page.

Lots of Firsts

Abby has had a lot of firsts in the last few days:

First Tooth: Abby's bottom right tooth pushed its way through on Wednesday. It appears that she wasn't in pain until right when it happened and she only appeared to hurt for an hour or so.

First Fun Bath: Abby has a little blow up bath tub. We have been using this for a while for bath time and she would pick up the toys in the tub and put them in her mouth but yesterday she found the water. She loves to splash the water out of the tub.

First Face Boo Boo: Abby army crawls all around the floor at her school. One day when I picked her up she had a little red mark by her eye. The women watching her said that she didn't cry when it happened so they hadn't even noticed that she was hurt until they picked her up next. She must have hit her head on the leg of one of the cribs in the room.

First Cracker: For the last few weeks I have been trying to introduce the baby crackers that melt in your mouth to Abby. She has had absolutely no interest in them until yesterday. Yesterday she let me put one in her mouth and although it came back out a few times... she continued to be interested in letting me put it back in. After a few, she now likes them so much she keeps them in her mouth the whole time and "chews" them up.

First Sit Up: Abby cannot get from the laying down position to the sitting up position by herself yet, but with her strong stomach muscles, she can pull herself up if someone holds her legs. She really seems to enjoy it. Sometimes she will do 5 sit ups in a row (with us putting her back in the laying down position).

First Allergy: My whole family is allergic to Penicillin. When Abby was prescribed Ammoxicillin which contains Penicillin, we watched her closely to see if she would have a reaction. It took a few days to show up but she did get an itchy rash all over her chest and back.

Tiny Dancer

My friend Meredith had taken pictures of her daughter in a tutu as soon as she was sitting and I loved the pics so much that I decided as soon as Abby could sit up I would have similar pictures taken of her. Here are my favorites:

Good Friends

It is fantastic having good friends that live close and have kids around the same age as Abby. Our play dates are always so much fun!!!

"Mama"

Abby's official first word is "Mama". I thought that the first time she had said it may have been a fluke... but, I have heard her say the same word at least 5 times since then. She is so cute!! Next I will have to catch it on video for everyone else to hear; then, I won't be the only person that believes it. :)

I watched President Obama's Inaguration speech today and I thought that it was very well written/presented. Today is a very important day in American history.

Army Crawl

This is my first time using our video camera. Every video before this one was taken on my digital camera. I can't believe that she will be crawling soon!!!

Pink Eye

Yesterday, Vincent and Kristin came over to visit. Abby kept trying to hold Vincent's hand which we thought was so cute.

Today Abby woke up with pink eye. Sorry Vincent! I hope that you don't get it. We have been using the eye drops given to us from the doctor... so hopefully she will be better soon.

Abby is so smart!! Below are a few of the things that we have seen just in the last day or so:
- She has begun to army crawl
- She pulls herself up on all fours and sways back and forth.
- She said the word "Mama" at the doctors office (it was different from the mamamama that she says when she is upset.
- She can use a sippy cup by herself (sometimes)
- She slept Tuesday night from 7:30pm to 8:30am (it was a one time thing)
