After Abby becomes comfortable with the transition to her new bed, Jason and I are planning to wean her from her pacifier and her evening bottle. In the last few months, Abby has become addicted to her pacifier. She started asking for it any time she was at home. If we didn't have it close by or were going to wait to give it to her until after we finished what we were in the middle of (ex. dinner or changing her clothes), Abby would throw a huge fit. Last week I explained to her that she could only have her paci at night (when the moon is out), she has accepted that, and now she only uses it now for naps and sleeping at night.
We had stopped the night bottle right after Abby turned one; however, last fall/winter season Abby was sick for a week at a time every other week. During that time we let her drink from her bottle so that we could ensure she was getting enough fluids. The night bottle became a habit again and she is not yet ready to give it up. One thing at a time, right? Our goal is to have Abby sleeping in her big girl bed without her paci and with no night bottle by the time she is two in June.
